Undergraduate Admissions
Award-Winning | Globally Recognized
(Common Application/UC Apps/ApplyTexas/MIT/UIUC/G'Town/Coalition Apps)
Year after year our students are accepted to Harvard, Stanford, MIT and more. Our results are unmatched!
All Admissions Committees are laser-focused on one aspect of your application above all else. And that is deciphering the WHY of what you have done in school and life. This is the reason why all the ESSAYS exist, why INTERVIEWS are conducted, why video essays are on the rise, why demonstrated interest goes beyond a drive-by visit and why the common application allows you to write 10 activities and choose their hierarchy.
Figuring out the WHY is the key to securing acceptances. If admissions committees never gets to know the real YOU, how can they ever understand you and if they don't understand what makes you UNIQUE, how are they supposed to admit you? But if you focus on the WHY, you gain acceptances where they otherwise seem impossible!
The application process is extremely complex. Think of it as a puzzle. There are a lot of moving pieces, and evolves year after year, such as several essays per college, resume designed for admissions specifically, interview prep tailored to each college, common application, list of activities that make you unique, demonstrated interest, and post-submission updates, emails and calls. Our award-winning and globally recognized admissions coaching not only helps you navigate the process but also leads you towards your best chances to stand out--authentically. If an applicant stands out to the admissions committees then an acceptance becomes possible!

BS/MD | BS/DO
A high GPA in the sciences, high test scores and SAT subject tests, research, publications, internships and community service is just the beginning. Aster Institute helps you simplify the process with proven strategies that will help your case. Understanding the patient-facing, clinical experience is required plus research and publications, to move from the first step of the evaluation to the interviews.
If you are contemplating BS/MD (guaranteed medical school program), then the process takes on a second component of medical school interviews. This makes it ultra competitive but Aster Institute has extensive experience and consistent results of placing students in both pre-med and competitive BS/MD programs (PLME (Brown), Baylor/Baylor, Pitt, GW/GW, etc.).
Business/Finance/Entrepreneurship
If finance is your calling then Wharton, Sloan, Stern, Haas, etc. have unique requirements. If Entrepreneurship is what you desire then Babson, MIT and Indiana’s Kelley are the top 3. Here also a high GPA, high test scores and SAT subject tests, research, publications, internships and community service are critical components – with internships, start-ups and non-profits taking on a significant role in the admissions process.
Aster Institute’s mastery is evident in the results: we place students every year to Babson, Wharton, Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley’s Haas, UVA’s McIntire, Kelley, etc.
Computer Science/AI/ML/Quantum/Space/Engineering
Whether you crave machine learning or marvel at the rise of blockchain technology and its potential, Aster Institute possess the insights to secure admissions to MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, UT Austin, UIUC, Georgia Tech, Purdue and many more. A high GPA, high test scores and SAT subject tests, research, publications, internships and community service are essential elements.
Arts/Music/Architecture/Film
The operative word here is “Portfolio.” If you aspire to be an architect and desire Cornell, RISD, USC, Carnegie, Rice, Tulane, etc., then a portfolio exemplifying your comprehension of light and spatial relationships is the sun around which all is else will revolve. Of course a high GPA, high test scores, research, publications, internships and community service are needed.
The same goes for music and the required auditions; art and film (USC, NYU, Columbia, Chapman, Emerson, etc.). A portfolio and a music/art/film and architecture resume, in addition to the standard requirement of a resume by most programs, adds to the layers of these applications. Aster Institute has not only secured top schools but also specialized schools such as NEC and Parsons.

Admissions is a holistic process which means every inch of your personal and professional background is a deciding factor in securing an acceptance. This is also true for MBA admissions!
In MBA programs, having a competitive GPA and high GMAT scores is just the beginning. Where you have interned, worked, published, whether you have a start-up and/or a non-profit are keys to landing you in the final round. But what secures an interview, which is the determinant of the acceptance requires poise, leadership, top-notch interview & communication skills and an ability to distill the MBA program to your plans and aspirations.
This is a simplified version of what is considered to be a complex process but not impossible. We are the experts, with results to top B-Schools, who can guide YOU and help you attack MBA applications that revolve around you and only YOU.

Law schools hunt for students who can demonstrate a commitment to jurisprudence. Since any major can be considered a pre-law major, competitive law schools’ admissions necessitate that you have set foot in a courtroom, faced the emotions and tensions that accompany the lengthy legal maneuvering, and most important: you possess emotional awareness to help those segments of society navigate the legal process that cannot afford the debilitating costs associated with courts and lawyers.
GPA and LSAT scores are the first step. Then your ability to write and ability to analyze, which can be demonstrated through publications. Your resume has to scream legal clinic experience, courtroom and legislative exposure and a genuine desire to uphold the rule of law irrespective of the monetary factor. We dissect each applicant’s unique contribution and vision for law, and help prepare our clients to stand out through:

Medical Schools admissions is indeed one of the most grueling admissions journey an applicant can undertake. Apart from GPA, MCAT, Research exposure, Internships, Clinical credentials, Publications and evidence of substantive community service, the ability to convey one’s soul and reason to enter the medical professional has to be mastered through the application and then a second mastery of the interview process. The entire purpose of the application is to generate an interview. Then the interview process determines whether you get in or not. It truly is a holistic process where one without the other cannot be accomplished.
Medical School Interviews: The interview process is a traditional invitation to the medical school campus with one-on-one interviews, panel interviews and group interviews all happening in the same day. The interviewing committee is comprised of admissions officers, professors and various deans. We help you learn the interview skills and execute them with ease.

ESSAYS
(Main Essay + All Supplemental Essays)
ENGINEERED AROUND YOU
-
Story-telling not traditional flowery essays! The biggest mistake students make is to treat essays as a writing exercise. I call essays INTERVIEW 1 -- a chance to connect in a raw manner.
-
Create a "hook" or use "big' vocabulary words and other outdated advice - we demystify all and share the secrets to essays that will make you stand out!!
-
College essays are a unique opportunity to tell YOUR STORY, that means, explain the WHY behind your accomplishments, experiences and activities. The WHAT they can see; the WHY is elusive. Essays allow you to unveil your soul.
INTERVIEWS
-
For top-tier universities, interviews hold a lot of weight. Not preparing for the interview is not a wise strategy.
-
Interviews in some cases determine whether you are accepted. For the BS/MD program, the application and essays have one goal to secure an interview. Then the interview decides if you get in!
-
Similarly for architecture and music majors, interviews, accompanied by portfolios, are key!

The College Resume has emerged as one of the biggest storytellers of the college application. It is a snapshot which highlights internships, community service and details on activities beyond the limits of the application and essays.

Similarly, video essays (60 to 90 sec.) are increasingly becoming popular--Brown, Babson, Michigan Ross, etc.). We know how to make your personality shine without sacrificing your achievements.
